Pumpkin Patches and Orange Icing

The Halloween that almost wasn't.

Chris and I hosted a Halloween party this year and had the best time! However, it was a tough road getting there. For a few weeks now, we have been decorating the yard which has been hit heavy by the rain. It pretty much was a daily task adding things, rearranging, and sometimes completely salvaging rain soaked decorations. Then, on Halloween day, our kitchen flooded when our pipe line became clogged and our washing machine ran over. We thought we were going to have to cancel the party. But after and emergency visit from Roto-Rooter, the party was back on and I still got it all accomplished. And Chris successfully managed to scare 90% of the kids who came trick-or-treating.

Cedar Hill Farm

The weekend before Halloween, Chris and I took Tucker to Cedar Hill Farm in Hernando, Mississippi. We had a great time and it was a beautiful day. All three of us really enjoyed all of the activities they have there. We are planning on another trip down there to look at their Christmas Trees. My favorite part was the Pig Races, The Pigadega 500. I had never been to a pig race, so it was interesting to say the least. Tucker passed out in the car about 10 minutes after we left. A Carnival! A Carnival!

As you all know, Tucker kind of likes a character called Thomas the Tank Engine. In some of the Thomas stories, a carnival is featured. Saturday night, we passed by the fair and Tucker exclaimed when he saw the lights, "A Carnival! A Carnival! I want to go play at the Carnival!" So we took him to the Delta Fair at the Agricenter with Nana and Papa. We barely went into the fair because the small rides for the kids Tucker's age was right at the entrance. We did go in just far enough to find Pronto Pups and Funnel cakes though. Tucker had a great time and we all enjoyed watching him more than anything. Be sure to click on the pictures to see a large view. The expressions on his face while on the rides is priceless.

Big News!

Actually, everyone who reads this blog probably already knows the big news, but I couldn't not post something. My sister, Kim, is having a baby!!!!!

I am so excited that there will be a new little one to snuggle with in our family. Kim hasn't been feeling so hot, but the baby has been healthy, strong, moving and hiccuping during all the ultrasounds so far. She is due in late February, although the due date has changed some since the beginning, so we don't really know when to expect this little one. Kim's husband, Geoff, I think wants a boy. But most of us have a feeling this one is going to be a girl. But we will hopefully know soon. Geoff has 4 nieces already, so his family could probably stand a boy. But only time will tell. We are all hoping to know the gender soon so we can begin the shopping/spoiling process.

Please keep Kim and Geoff in your prayers. Kim has had some complications along the way and is feeling pretty bad. She is on bedrest for the time being (and possibly the duration of her pregnancy) and is already getting bored.

Whitney's Wedding Shower

This past Saturday, my sister-in-law, Dawn, and I hosted a wedding shower for our niece Whitney, who will be married in Florida in 2 weeks. Therefore, we decided to go for beach theme. It was a great time and I really enjoyed getting to plan it with Dawn. The lady who made my wedding cake and some of Tucker's birthday cakes did this one. Everyone thought it was very cute.
